Epsom Using the gallops

Trainers planning to move to Epsom are given a tour of the facilities and provided with an Epsom Downs Training Grounds Information Pack. This includes information on the location of gallops, opening times, Rules and Regulations, health and safety and useful contacts.

Casual users wishing to use the facilities can make an appointment by contacting the Gallops Manager. All facilities are available to casual users, providing the requests are agreed in advance and they have familiarised themselves with the Training Grounds rules and regulations.

Jockey Club Estates charges ’Gallop Fees’ for the use of the training grounds and these are paid by owners, rather than trainers. Each month every trainer completes an online return detailing which horses have used the training grounds and owners are charged accordingly, directly from their account at Weatherbys.

Casual users pay on a per visit basis.

Gallop Fees are reviewed annually following consultation with the local trainers.
